Mission Statement

IF YOU LOVE ANIMALS BUT ARE UNABLE TO MAKE A LIFE-LONG COMMITMENT AT THIS TIME, THEN FOSTERING MAY BE FOR YOU!

It’s A Dog’s Life needs foster homes for dogs that come into our care. We do not have a shelter facility so we rely on the residents of Kenora to open their homes to dogs without. All dogs will be screened for health and temperment issues prior to placement and will have received all the necessary vaccinations. Puppies under the age of 8 weeks are too young to be vaccinated.

Dogs may not yet be spayed or neutered prior to being fostered, but will be as soon as appointments can be scheduled. .

Applications can be downloaded from out website and printed off, picked up at Taylor Made Pet Products, Chowtime Pet Supplies, and the Kenora Vet Clinic. The option to complete and directly submit applications on our website will soon be available. Please do not be discouraged at the length of the application. Dogs in our care have been abandoned and we need to ensure they are being placed in a home that will provide a safe and loving environment. It is vital that the dog fits into your lifestyle, and that you can accommidate theirs.

The length of the fostering commitment is up to you. Homes will be needed for long as well as short term time periods.

Food will be provided and all approved veterinary costs will be covered. If you have any questions please call 1-807-467-DOGS and leave a message. A representative from It’s A Dog’s Life will return your call and answer any questions you may have about fostering.
